OUR STORY
Welcome on my page. Hello, my name is Julie Lurette. A little bit about myself... I'm married to the best man ever and have 3 children, 2 step children and 2 grand kids. Who would have thought I would be so passionate about baking and decorating cakes. It all started in October 2013 when my oldest daughter turned 18. As she never wanted to be the center of attention when it came to her birthday, she sure wanted the big party for her 18th birthday; and she got it! How could I deny her from it? So the preparation began with a Medieval theme as this is a passion of hers. When it came to the cake, I wasn't prepared to pay $300+ for what I wanted. I decided that I was going to make it. You need to know that at the time, I had never baked a cake from scratch. So began the creation of this castle cake (see picture).
Although it was far from perfect, hahaha far very far, I had so much fun making it that I started making more cakes for every occasion coming my way until my BFF requested me to make a 50th wedding anniversary cake for her in-laws. Of course she wouldn't accept a no, oh did I try go get out of this one. I decided that I needed to take cake lessons to be able to accomplish the task; and I did. I'm so greatful to my friend who gave me the push I needed.
I now understand why cakes cost so much, with all the preparation and designing work, it can take many hours to get to the final result. I do these cakes, cupcakes, treats, candies out of passion. I am not a certified professional baker but I can guarantee you that I do put all my heart into each creation.
My prices are very reasonable and far below any professional bakeries and very yummy too!!! Because I believe that every special occasion should have a cake as a beautiful centerpiece that feeds the eyes, heart and of course your well sensitive sweet tooth! All of that at an affordable cost.
